Capitalism and the Tea Parties April 15, 2009

Individual rights and the moral ideal of capitalism is the bases for the Future Business Leaders’ Series(tm).  When I started the series 3.5 years ago, I never dreamed our country could have  taken the path to socialism/fascism that it has.  I thought history had taught us better.

The past several months have been extremely hard to digest as we watch our federal government’s powers spiral out of control. Un-Constitutional bailouts, corrupt officials, trillion dollar spending, attacks on almost every single one of our Bill of Rights, and expensive social programs that we can’t afford are turning our country from the prosperous land of the free into a nanny-state for the dependent.

During these times, I’ve found the objective articles of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights to be very helpful in keeping a level head when most information you find is biased one way or the other and everything seems to be collapsing around us.  The ARC is not partisan and not backed by any media moguls.  They follow the philosophy of rational, self-interest, uphold with highest regards individuals’ rights to life, liberty and private property and regard capitalism as the highest moral standard.

In honor of the tax tea parties happening all over the country today, here’s a link to a short, but very well written, article by the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights about the tea parties and capitalism:

ARC on the Tea Parties

only by embracing capitalism as a profoundly moral ideal can we truly resist Washington’s assault on freedom, and return the country to liberty and prosperity.”

If you are interested in a follow up action you can take to extend the impact of the Tax Day Tea Party protests, go to the web site go-galt.org and participate in the Atlas Shrugged Books-to-Politicians Campaign.
